Paramount+ is preparing to bring one of its biggest crime dramas back to the streets of London.
MobLand Season 2 will premiere globally on September 18, 2026, bringing Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren back for another round of family warfare, shifting alliances and increasingly brutal power struggles.
And judging from the official trailer released by Paramount+ in August, the second season is not interested in slowing things down.
The Harrigans are wounded, their criminal empire is becoming increasingly unstable, new rivals are moving in and Harry Da Souza once again finds himself standing in the middle of a conflict where choosing the wrong side could be fatal.

When Does MobLand Season 2 Come Out?
The wait is almost over.
MobLand Season 2 premieres Friday, September 18, 2026, exclusively on Paramount+.
The new season consists of 10 episodes, but Paramount+ will not release them all at once. Instead, new episodes will arrive every Friday, with the season finale scheduled for November 20, 2026.
That means the Season 2 schedule will stretch across roughly two months, giving Paramount+ another weekly flagship drama rather than turning MobLand into a single-weekend binge.
The September 18 date applies globally, including Paramount+ markets such as Italy.
What Is MobLand Season 2 About?
Season 1 established the Harrigans as one of London’s most dangerous criminal families, but by the end of the first season their position was becoming increasingly fragile.
Season 2 appears ready to exploit exactly that weakness.
According to Paramount’s official description, the Harrigans will struggle to maintain a united front while rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire.
Harry Da Souza — Tom Hardy’s extremely capable fixer — will once again be forced to navigate conflicts both inside and outside the family.
Paramount describes Harry’s situation as a dangerous balancing act as tensions within the Harrigan clan continue to intensify. Violence is expected to spread further into the characters’ personal lives while old loyalties begin to collapse.
That is an important shift.
The first season was largely about surviving the war between criminal organizations.
Season 2 looks increasingly like it will also be about surviving the Harrigans themselves.
Tom Hardy Returns as Harry Da Souza
Unsurprisingly, Tom Hardy is back as Harry Da Souza.
Harry quickly became the center of MobLand during the first season: a professional fixer capable of negotiating one minute and resorting to extreme violence the next.
The concept works largely because Harry isn’t simply another gangster.
He operates between the different layers of the organization.
He understands the leadership, the soldiers, the rivals and the consequences of every decision being made around him.
Season 2 appears designed to make that position considerably more dangerous.
With the Harrigan empire destabilizing, Harry may no longer be able to solve problems without eventually choosing who he actually wants to protect.
And after the events of the Season 1 finale, his personal relationships may prove just as dangerous as the criminal war surrounding him.
Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren Are Back
The other two pillars of MobLand are also returning.
Pierce Brosnan reprises his role as Conrad Harrigan, while Helen Mirren returns as Maeve Harrigan.
Together they remain the ruthless center of the Harrigan organization.
But the trailers and official description suggest the family will enter Season 2 from a much weaker position than before.
Rather than simply defending territory from another criminal dynasty, Conrad and Maeve will have to deal with threats from outside the organization while simultaneously trying to prevent divisions inside their own family from tearing everything apart.

Season 1 frequently worked because it combined relatively restrained conversations with sudden explosions of violence.
The new footage suggests that formula will remain intact, but the scale of the confrontation appears to be expanding.
The Harrigans are no longer operating from a position of unquestioned strength.
Instead, multiple forces appear capable of exploiting their instability.
And Harry seems increasingly trapped between the people who employ him, the people he cares about and the enemies who understand exactly how valuable he is.
For a series built around loyalty, that is probably the most dangerous position possible.
MobLand Became One of Paramount+’s Biggest Original Series
There is also a very simple reason Paramount+ moved quickly with Season 2:
MobLand was a major hit.
When Paramount officially renewed the show in June 2025, it said the first season had reached 26 million viewers worldwide.
At the time, Paramount described MobLand as the second most-watched original series in Paramount+ history, behind only Landman.
The show had also spent five consecutive weeks among Nielsen’s Top 10 SVOD original series.
Those numbers immediately transformed MobLand from another high-profile streaming experiment into a potentially important long-term franchise for Paramount+.
And the ingredients are obvious.
Tom Hardy provides an extremely marketable lead, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren give the series heavyweight star power, while the British crime setting occupies familiar territory for audiences who enjoyed productions such as Peaky Blinders, The Gentlemen and Gangs of London.
MobLand doesn’t reinvent the gangster drama.
It simply understands exactly what makes the genre entertaining.
Is Guy Ritchie Behind MobLand?
Yes — but there is an important distinction.
MobLand is often described as a Guy Ritchie series, largely because its criminal underworld, London setting and darkly comic violence fit perfectly within the filmmaker’s established style.
However, the show was created by Ronan Bennett, while Guy Ritchie serves as an executive producer and directed episodes of the series.
The production is made in association with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, with Tom Hardy himself also serving as an executive producer.
That combination helps explain why MobLand feels familiar without simply becoming a television version of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels or The Gentlemen.
It operates in the same creative territory while developing its own family mythology.
What About MobLand Season 3?
This is where things become considerably more interesting.
There were reports earlier in 2026 suggesting Tom Hardy might leave MobLand after Season 2 following disagreements behind the scenes.
Those reports were later challenged.
Variety reported in July that Hardy and the production team had subsequently met and resolved enough of their differences for the actor to be lined up for a potential third season.
But there is an important detail.
As of August 29, 2026, Paramount+ has not formally announced MobLand Season 3.
So headlines claiming that a third season has already been officially ordered should be treated cautiously.
What appears to have changed is Hardy’s involvement: if Paramount+ proceeds with Season 3, current reporting indicates Harry Da Souza is expected to remain part of the story.
Given the performance of Season 1, another renewal would hardly be surprising.
But first Paramount will want to see whether audiences return in similar numbers this September.
Why Season 2 Could Be More Interesting Than the First
MobLand began with a very recognizable premise: powerful crime families, territorial disputes, corrupt alliances and a professional fixer trying to prevent everything from collapsing.
But the end of the first season changed the equation.
The Harrigans are now damaged.
Harry’s position is more complicated.
Relationships that previously appeared stable are becoming unreliable.
And the official Season 2 material suggests the writers understand that simply introducing another enemy family would not be enough.
The more interesting conflict is internal.
Criminal empires in television are often at their most compelling not while they are being built, but while they are beginning to collapse.
MobLand now has the opportunity to explore exactly that.
Instead of asking whether the Harrigans can become more powerful, Season 2 can ask a much better question:
how much are they willing to destroy to remain powerful?
MobLand Season 2 Could Become One of Paramount+’s Biggest Shows of 2026
MobLand doesn’t need a dramatic reinvention for its second season.
It already has one of the strongest casts currently assembled for a streaming crime drama and a protagonist perfectly suited to Tom Hardy’s restrained, physically intimidating performance style.
What Season 2 needs is escalation.
The Harrigans should feel less secure.
Harry’s choices should become more expensive.
And loyalty should become increasingly difficult to distinguish from self-preservation.
Everything Paramount+ has shown so far suggests that is exactly where the series is heading.
