Grand Theft Auto VI may be about to get one of the most interesting electronic soundtracks in the history of the franchise.
Fred again.. has become the latest major artist to strongly hint at an appearance in GTA 6, joining a rapidly growing group of musicians who have simultaneously shared mysterious artwork connected to Rockstar Games’ upcoming blockbuster.
And this does not look like a random social media coincidence.
On September 15, several artists began posting illustrations carrying the unmistakable visual language of Grand Theft Auto VI. Among the names involved were Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, PinkPantheress, Keith Richards, Rauw Alejandro, Morgan Wallen, Yung Lean and Argentine duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso.
Fred again.. joined the campaign through the team-run fredagainfeed account, sharing imagery showing a yacht rendered in GTA VI’s distinctive artwork style. Mixmag reports that the same image had also been shared by CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, with whom Fred again.. has previously collaborated.
It is therefore becoming increasingly difficult to interpret these posts as anything other than the beginning of Rockstar’s musical rollout for GTA VI.
But there is one important detail.
Has Rockstar officially confirmed Fred again.. for GTA 6?
Not exactly — at least not in the traditional sense.
Rockstar Games has not yet published a complete soundtrack announcement identifying Fred again.., his songs or the radio station on which his music will appear.
Instead, the apparent reveal is happening through the artists themselves.
That distinction matters.
Some publications have already described Fred again.. as confirmed for the GTA 6 soundtrack, while others, including NME, Mixmag and MusicRadar, are using more cautious language and describing the social posts as teasers of the musicians’ involvement.
At this point, the safest conclusion is that Fred again.. is almost certainly involved with GTA VI’s music in some capacity, but the nature of that involvement remains unknown.
What could Fred again.. actually do in GTA 6?
This is where things become particularly interesting.
Simply putting one Fred again.. song into a radio playlist would make perfect sense. His blend of house, UK garage, ambient electronics, vocal sampling and club music would fit naturally into Rockstar’s modern interpretation of Vice City.
But GTA has historically gone much further than simply licensing individual tracks.
Rockstar has previously worked directly with artists and DJs to build entire radio stations, DJ mixes and original musical experiences.
GTA Online, for example, introduced MOTOMAMI Los Santos, curated by ROSALÍA and Arca, while other updates have involved artists including Dr. Dre, Moodymann and Keinemusik.
That history opens several possibilities for Fred again…
He could contribute an existing track.
He could produce exclusive music for the game.
He could curate or host a radio station.
He could provide a DJ mix.
Or Rockstar could incorporate him into one of GTA VI’s clubs, festivals or live-music environments.
For now, none of those possibilities has been confirmed.
Fred again.. would be an almost perfect fit for Vice City
From a musical perspective, the potential collaboration makes sense.
The modern version of Vice City shown by Rockstar is not simply recreating the Miami of the 1980s. GTA VI appears to mix nostalgia with contemporary Florida culture, nightlife, social media and modern music.
Fred again.. sits comfortably inside that world.
His productions move between intimate vocal recordings and huge club-oriented tracks, while his live shows and DJ sets have become an important part of contemporary electronic music culture.
His inclusion could therefore help Rockstar establish the sound of modern Vice City, rather than relying entirely on the synth-pop and classic rock nostalgia traditionally associated with the setting.
And he is unlikely to be alone.
GTA 6’s soundtrack is starting to look enormous
The wider list of musicians involved in the September teaser campaign suggests Rockstar may be preparing something unusually ambitious.
Travis Scott posted GTA-style artwork accompanied by a cryptic message mentioning “Phase 1”, while Future, Metro Boomin and Yung Lean shared related imagery.
Keith Richards posted his own GTA-inspired illustration, while PinkPantheress, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro and others also participated in the coordinated activity.
The diversity of those artists is particularly revealing.
Electronic music, trap, hip-hop, pop, Latin music, country and classic rock are all represented.
That is exactly the kind of genre-spanning approach Rockstar has traditionally used for Grand Theft Auto’s fictional radio ecosystem.
Rather than a conventional videogame soundtrack, GTA VI could once again function as a huge interactive music platform.
Rockstar understands how powerful GTA radio can be
Music has never been background decoration in Grand Theft Auto.
Driving through Vice City, Los Santos or Liberty City while switching between radio stations has become part of the identity of the franchise.
Rockstar’s selections have also repeatedly introduced older songs to entirely new audiences.
That effect is already visible around GTA VI.
Following music used during recent GTA VI promotional material, several featured tracks experienced significant streaming increases. MusicRadar reports substantial Spotify gains for songs including Cliff Richard’s “Devil Woman” and Prefab Sprout’s “Cars and Girls.”
A GTA VI placement could therefore expose Fred again.. — already one of electronic music’s biggest contemporary names — to an audience potentially far beyond the traditional dance-music world.
Could Fred again.. have his own GTA 6 radio station?
This is probably the most exciting possibility, but it remains speculation.
A Fred again.. station could easily move between house, garage, techno, ambient music and UK electronic culture while featuring both his own productions and artists who regularly appear in his DJ sets.
Rockstar has repeatedly shown that it understands DJ culture well enough to let artists curate rather than simply supply songs.
Giving Fred again.. control of a radio station would therefore make considerably more sense than it might initially appear.
However, there is currently no evidence confirming such a station.
Until Rockstar reveals the full radio lineup, any claim that Fred again.. will host his own station should be treated as speculation.
The September 15 posts may only be “Phase 1”
Perhaps the most intriguing clue comes from Travis Scott.
His GTA VI-related message explicitly included the words “Phase 1.”
If that wording is connected to Rockstar’s marketing campaign rather than simply Scott’s own project, the current wave of musician posts might represent only the beginning of a much larger soundtrack reveal.
That could mean additional artists, radio stations and exclusive tracks are still waiting to be announced.
And with GTA VI scheduled for November 19, 2026, Rockstar still has plenty of time to reveal exactly what these collaborations mean.
So, is Fred again.. really in GTA 6?
All the available evidence now points in that direction.
Fred again.. has participated in the same coordinated GTA VI-themed social campaign as numerous other internationally recognised artists, making some form of musical involvement extremely likely.
What we cannot say yet is exactly what that involvement will be.
A licensed song?
Exclusive material?
A DJ set?
His own radio station?
Or potentially something even more ambitious?
That part remains a mystery.
But one thing is becoming clear: GTA VI’s radio could be every bit as important as Vice City itself.
And if Rockstar really is assembling a lineup that moves from Fred again.. and PinkPantheress to Travis Scott, Metro Boomin and Keith Richards, November 19 may deliver much more than the biggest game launch of 2026.
It could also deliver one of the most ambitious videogame soundtracks ever assembled.
