German DJ and producer Loco Dice has shared an emotional statement following the theft of his hard drive and USB stick last Friday. According to Dice, the devices were stolen directly from his tour manager’s bag inside the DJ booth, containing his entire music collection — including unreleased material and exclusive tracks entrusted to him by other artists.
“I’m hurt and in shock. Disrespectful actions like this should not happen in our community,”
Dice wrote in a heartfelt message to fans and fellow DJs.
He also extended a personal apology to the producers whose unreleased music may now be at risk, emphasizing that such an act represents a serious breach of trust in the tight-knit underground scene.
A Message to Fans and Artists
Loco Dice, known for his distinctive fusion of tech house, minimal, and techno, asked fans and the community to stay alert.
“If you hear one of my sounds, a track that you may know from my sets being played by someone other than me, please let me and my team know.”
He warned that his signature sets often include exclusive demos and unreleased cuts — meaning any track circulating outside his performances could have been taken from the stolen devices.
To the Thief: “You Still Have Time to Make This Right”
Dice revealed that video footage from the DJ booth is currently under review, but he urged the thief to take responsibility:
“You still have time to come forward anonymously and to make this right. Please return what’s not yours.”
The statement has sparked a wave of solidarity across the global electronic music community, with fans and fellow DJs expressing outrage and support online.
Incidents like this highlight the vulnerability of artists whose creative work and unreleased projects often exist only on portable drives. For many DJs, these devices are the heart of their art — containing years of personal and collaborative effort.
