Tomorrowland 2025 Will Go Ahead Without Its Main Stage, Organisers Confirm

Tomorrowland 2025 is officially still on. Despite the devastating fire that destroyed the iconic Orbyz Main Stage on 16 July, organisers have confirmed that the festival will proceed as planned this weekend, 18–20 July, in Boom, Belgium.

At a press conference held this evening, Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen shared an emotional yet determined message:

“We’re devastated. But we’ve received so many wonderful reactions. And we’re working hard now. We’re going to keep going, we’re going 100 percent!”

She added:

“We can also throw a party without a main stage… But of course, it also has to be safe.”

🔧 Two Possible Scenarios for Opening Day
In an official statement released on the festival’s website and social media channels, organisers outlined two possible opening-day plans:

🅰️ Scenario 1 – Secured and Ready:
If the Main Stage area can be fully secured in time, the entire festival site will open as originally planned to all ticket holders.

🅱️ Scenario 2 – Split Zones:
If safety checks aren’t completed, DreamVille and the main festival grounds will operate as separate zones on Friday only.

The Gathering Stage at DreamVille will host Friday’s Main Stage acts

DreamVille guests will stay within the camping grounds

All other attendees (Day Pass, Global Journey, Full Madness Pass holders) will enter the festival grounds (minus the main stage)

In either case, doors will open at 2 PM, two hours later than originally scheduled.

🔥 The Fire and Its Aftermath
The fire broke out around 5 PM CEST on 16 July, completely consuming the elaborate Orbyz Main Stage, which was nearly complete ahead of Friday’s opening. Miraculously, no injuries were reported, despite around 1,000 crew members being present on site at the time.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

Today, after intense coordination between Tomorrowland’s organisers, local authorities, fire departments, and the mayors of Boom and Rumst, a solution was reached to allow the festival to move forward safely.

💬 “It Wasn’t Just a Stage…”
In a heartfelt statement shared this morning, Tomorrowland paid tribute to its lost stage:

“The Orbyz Mainstage of Tomorrowland Belgium 2025, a creation born from pure passion, imagination, and dedication, is no more.
This wasn’t just a stage. It was a living, breathing world.”

🎉 Festival Already Underway
At DreamVille, The Gathering Opening Party is already in full swing, according to Belgian outlet HLN. With 38,000 visitors expected today, the on-site camping area is rapidly filling up. Across both weekends, over 400,000 people are expected to attend.

Tomorrowland’s determination to proceed — even without its symbolic centerpiece — is a testament to the power of community, creativity, and music. The world will be watching as the gates open tomorrow.
